Different and Unique

God has created us all different and unique. 

We are all different shapes and sizes. I don’t just mean our physical appearance. We all have different talents, gifting and personalities. I believe God created us to be a perfect fit in his plan. We fit like a glove in the place he has created for us. 

Often times I see people trying to shove themselves into a shape that very obviously isn’t meant for them. Then there are other times the space looks like the perfect shape but it’s a tad too small or even too big. The scripture Matt 11:28-30 comes to mind. 

““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.””

Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

I believe the place God has for us is a place that we fit into easily. I myself have felt like I’ve wasted so much time trying to fit into a place or walk in places that felt heavy. The yoke felt anything but easy and light that’s for sure. I wasted so much time because it seemed right. 

“A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”

Proverbs 21:2-3 NIV

I don’t believe this scripture just applies to sin. I believe it applies to our ministry and gifting’s. 

God didn’t give you your talents and gifting’s to stay where you don’t fit… You can’t function in a space that’s too big or small. Have you ever tried to hang a picture on the wall with a nail that’s too small, Spoiler it’s probably going to fall. There’s also a possibility the picture will break. 

Many times we find ourselves broken because we haven’t found the right fit. I believe God wants to lead and guide us to the perfect fit. I believe the closer we stay to him listening to his voice through reading the Bible, the closer we are to finding the perfect fit. God isn’t into playing game’s. He is longing to speak to us. It is his will that we know him better and know his plan for our lives. Won’t you take time to sit and talk to him today? Won’t you open your heart for him to lead you to your perfect fit?
